Issues with Emailing to Apple Addresses

Springfield Bicycle Club | Published on 6/21/2023

We've received notice from ClubExpress (our web platform) that there have been problems with delivering emails to certain addresses, notably Apple addresses and in some cases, gmail. Sounds like the issue is being worked on, but in the meantime, if you feel you are not receiving emails from the club, this may be the reason. Hopefully the issue will be corrected soon.

Below is the notice that was sent to our web administrator.

Email Deliverability to Apple Addresses

ClubExpress has received a number of reports that your blast emailings sent from ClubExpress to Apple email addresses (ending in me.com, mac.com, and icloud.com) are not being delivered by Apple.

We have contacted Apple more than once using the recommended Postmaster channels and have not received any response. When we check the various “blacklists”, ClubExpress is not listed on any of them. So there’s no way to know why Apple might be rejecting emails sent from ClubExpress to your members and there’s no-one at Apple we can speak to directly.

It’s important to understand that the email “industry” works differently than one might expect. Because spam is so prevalent in our Inboxes, emailers like ClubExpress are regarded as “guilty until proven innocent”. When email hosts see large volumes of email coming from our servers, they will initially assume that we are spammers until we can prove that we’re not. So ClubExpress follows all recommended practices for email delivery, including how your domain names are configured to authenticate ClubExpress as an authorized sender on your behalf.

We will continue to work the issue as best we can, knowing that in the past, these kinds of delivery problems have been transient and usually resolve themselves within a few days.
